As a warm-up for the Ikeda's visit to our school, teachers from both schools worked together to arrange several video conference sessions for the students.
在十一月池田小學來訪之前，兩校教師合作為學生安排了數場視訊會議為交流做暖身。
Each of the five 6-grade hosting classes got one Skype session to chat with their would-be guests.
擔任接待的六年級五個班各分配一段時間可以透過 Skpe 跟他們的小客人交談。
Though communication was a bit difficult due to language barrier, students managed to "chat" by talking, writing, drawing, miming, and even singing.
雖然因為語言障礙，溝通有點困難，但小朋友們仍努力透過口語、書寫、畫圖、動作、甚至歌唱來交談。
One student told us afterwards that he didn't know video conference could be so exhausting because he'd used up all his energy during the session.
活動結束後，有位小朋友說沒想到視訊交流這麼累人，因為他幾乎用盡所有的精力啦！
But everyone seemed to have a lot of fun.
不過大家似乎都玩得很開心。
The Skype sessions gave the students a chance to become a little acquainted before the actual visit.
視訊會議讓小朋友在實體交流前有機會先互相認識。
And when the Ikeda students visited in November, many of the students recognized their partners right away, which helped the visit program begin on a positive note.
池田到校交流當天，很多孩子一眼就認出自己的學伴，讓活動有個良好的開始。
